Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Panthers vs. Anahuac Panthers

Having just played yesterday, Liberty will head out on the road to face off against Anahuac at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Liberty came up short against Dayton and fell 74-67. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite their loss, Liberty saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Izaiah Williams, who posted 30 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Holmes, who earned 17 points.

Meanwhile, Anahuac unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by Sabine Pass and fell 65-38. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Anahuac in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, sneaking past 39-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
