Softball Recap: Ashley Takes a Loss

Ashley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 7-3 to the Topsail Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 back in March.

Vayda LeQuire was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Ashley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Topsail, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ashley will head out to square off against West Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Topsail, they will venture away from home to challenge Lumberton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
