Softball Recap: Toutle Lake Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Toutle Lake and Onalaska, and Toutle Lake kept the tradition alive. Toutle Lake walked away with an 8-4 win over Onalaska on Monday. This was payback for the Ducks, who suffered a 21-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Audrey Kilponen made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Kilponen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karly Opsahl, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jamie Veach, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Toutle Lake pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 8 runs thus far As for Onalaska, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
