Basketball Game Preview: Warren Bears vs. Paramount Pirates

The Warren Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Paramount Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Warren's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Warren against Lynwood as the team secured an 87-38 victory. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warren to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenneth Martinez, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was King Johnson, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 18 points.

Warren was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They are 16-3 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Paramount strolled past Firebaugh with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 80-63.

Warren's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points over those games. As for Paramount, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Everything came up roses for Warren against Paramount in their previous meeting on January 9th, as the squad secured an 86-57 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
