Basketball Game Preview: Dover Dragons vs. Webutuck Warriors

Dover is a perfect 10-0 against Webutuck since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Dover Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Webutuck Warriors at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses apiece.

On Tuesday, Dover was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-58 to Millbrook.

Dover might have lost, but man, Kayden Brinson was a machine: he dropped a double-double with 24 points and 25 boards. The game was Brinson's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jaheim Dixon, who posted 17 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Dover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Webutuck had to suffer through a 66-35 loss at the hands of Ellenville. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 885th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 361st).

Dover's record now sits at 4-12. As for Webutuck, their record is now 1-14.

Everything came up roses for Dover against Webutuck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-23 win. Will Dover repeat their success, or does Webutuck have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
