Softball Recap: Mauston Takes a Loss

Mauston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to the Wautoma Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on April 13th.

Mauston's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Wautoma, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record.

Mauston and Wautoma could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Golden Eagles will take on Ripon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (379 vs. 102). Meanwhile, Wautoma (ranked 280th) will meet Nekoosa (ranked 120th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
