Baseball Game Preview: Scituate Sailors vs. Duxbury Dragons

The Scituate Sailors will head out on the road to challenge the Duxbury Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Scituate proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Martha's Vineyard Regional 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sailors have posted since April 29, 2024.

Meanwhile, Duxbury faced Braintree in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Dragons had just enough and edged out the Wamps 4-3. While the Dragons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The victory got Scituate back to even at 4-4. As for Duxbury, their win bumped their record up to 7-1-1.

Scituate skirted past Duxbury 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sailors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
