Baseball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Gets the Win

Victory Christian Academy came out on top against Grace Christian Academy on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Eagles walked away with a 9-6 win over the Lions. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Lions back in April, they had to take a 7-5 defeat.

Eddie Lindstrom made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, JT Russell was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Victory Christian Academy is 2-1 when Russell posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Gentry, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Victory Christian Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Victory Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Grace Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Victory Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against Laytonville on the 13th. Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
