Softball Recap: Eastern Has No Trouble Against Oak Hill

Eastern's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Oak Hill Oaks as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Leah Rader made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Eastern got a massive performance out of Aubrey Quillen, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Quillen has posted since back in April. Jaidyn McCleese was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Eastern hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Eastern's record is now 12-8. As for Oak Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Oak Hill has already played their next contest (against Minford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eastern will be paying especially close attention to the Oaks' matchup: after the Oaks face off against East, they'll take on Eastern again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
