Softball Game Preview: Annandale Cardinals vs. Rockford Rockets

The Annandale Cardinals will face off against the Rockford Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Annandale is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Kimball just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the Cubs. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kara Scheer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Rockford waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Dragons as they made off with a 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Rockford pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Annandale, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
