Softball Recap: Oakridge Comes Up Short

Oakridge had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 5-13 to make it 12. They fell just short of the Lowell Red Devils by a score of 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since March 17th.

As for Lowell, the victory snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 7-14 record. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Lowell's part, the team relied heavily on Madison Thurman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Thurman has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexis Owsley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Oakridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lowell, they will host Chiloquin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
