Basketball Recap: Challenger Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Challenger lost against Christian Family Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Challenger Firebirds fell 65-52 to the Christian Family Academy Fire.

When it comes to explaining why Challenger lost, don't look at Riley Annis. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 14 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Annis has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelon Roe, who posted eight points and three steals.

Charles Murray continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Christian Family Academy, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Murray has scored at least a third of Christian Family Academy's points. Logan Ramsey was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 16 points and three steals.

Challenger's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. As for Christian Family Academy, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Challenger has already played their next game (against Nebo Crossing Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Christian Family Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Pinnacle Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Family Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.4 points per game this season.
