There's no place like home for Channel Islands, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Nordhoff Rangers on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Channel Islands had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Brandon Romero paced Channel Islands' offense, picking up 20 kills. Romero got some help from Daniel Miranda and his 38 assists. Finally, Miranda was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Channel Islands' win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Nordhoff, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Channel Islands and Coastal Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Nordhoff, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Ventura on the 23rd.
