It was fun while it lasted, but Bloomfield Hills's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Friday. They fell just short of the Royal Oak Ravens by a score of 44-42. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Black Hawks came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Ravens are ranked 320th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Bloomfield Hills fell to 5-1. As for Royal Oak, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield Hills will finish 2024 at home by hosting Grosse Pointe South at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Royal Oak, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on University at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
