Basketball Recap: Butte Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Butte Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beaverhead County Beavers. The match marked the Maroons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Beaverhead County had a senior duo take command as Kyler Engellant dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards and Carter Curnow went 7 for 15 on his way to 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Engellant has scored at least a third of Beaverhead County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Hartman, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Butte Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Beaverhead County, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Butte Central Catholic has already played their next contest (against Corvallis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Beaverhead County will venture away from home to take on Stevensville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Beaverhead County is facing Stevensville at the right time seeing as Stevensville is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
