Volleyball Recap: Franklin Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Franklin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Canutillo Eagles on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Franklin's got stronger as the match went on, holding Canutillo to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-10.

Victoria Bailey paced Franklin's offense, picking up 18 kills. Bailey got some help from Stephanie Lozano and her 24 assists. Bailey Reyes controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Franklin will be taking part in a tournament against Trimble Tech at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canutillo, they will take on Mansfield in a tournament on Thursday.
