Basketball Recap: Dowagiac Comes Up Short

Dowagiac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-47 to the Brandywine Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 605th, while the Bobcats are ranked 230th).

Dowagiac's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Brandywine, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dowagiac will square off against Three Rivers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Dowagiac is facing Three Rivers at the right time seeing as Three Rivers is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brandywine, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Brandywine Bobcats take on the Watervliet Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
