Volleyball Recap: Mount Olive Beats Vernon for Their Fourth Straight Win

Mount Olive came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Vernon Vikings by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Marauders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mount Olive never let Vernon on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-23.

Olivia Drucks paced Mount Olive's offense, picking up 15 kills. Drucks got some help from Kaitlyn Tungmun and her 27 assists. Tungmun was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Mount Olive's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Vernon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Olive will take on Roxbury at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vernon, they will host Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
