Basketball Recap: Satanta's Losing Streak Snapped at 16 Games

Satanta had lost 16 straight headed into Friday's matchup, but Yahaira Puerto didn't let it get to 17. The Satanta Indians blew past the Rolla Pirates 66-34 on Friday thanks in part to Puerto, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Satanta's points.

Mia Burrows was another key player, putting up 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists gave her a new career-high.

Satanta's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rolla, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Satanta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-41 defeat against Moscow on the 14th. As for Rolla, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 31-22 loss against Deerfield on the 14th.
