Football Recap: Chadron Beats Mitchell for Their Third Straight Win

Chadron won the last time they faced Mitchell and things went their way on Friday too. The Cardinals snuck past the Tigers with a 32-26 victory. The Cardinals' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Tobin Landen threw for 68 yards and one touchdown. Tobin Meyer was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Layne Davidson rushed for 217 yards and four scores.

Mitchell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Billingsley, who threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 49 yards and one TD. The Tigers' leading receiver Xavier Galloway was Billingsley's top target yet again, picking up 133 receiving yards and one score.

Chadron's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mitchell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Chadron will take on Gothenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mitchell, they will challenge Sidney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
