Basketball Game Preview: Ashland Arrows vs. Crestview Cougars

The Ashland Arrows will face off against the Crestview Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Saturday, Ashland came up short against Waynedale and fell 54-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Arrows came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 335th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Crestview challenged New London on Monday. Crestview was dealt a 53-14 defeat at the hands of New London. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Ashland's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. As for Crestview, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Ashland might still be hurting after the 60-36 defeat they got from Crestview when the teams last played back in January of 2021. Thankfully for Ashland, Kenedi Goon (who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
