Softball Recap: Newton South Comes Up Short

Newton South lost against Framingham back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lions fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 11-10. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hannah Schwagwer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasmeen Salim, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Newton South's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Framingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Newton South nor Framingham have any future games scheduled.
