Baseball Recap: North Central Comes Up Short

North Central had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Pullman Greyhounds, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-5 loss on Saturday.

North Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Elliott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for Pullman, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Pullman, who have now won seven games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

On Pullman's side, Braden Northcroft was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Northcroft a new career-high. Adrian Hecker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coincidentally, North Central and Pullman will both be playing Clarkston the next time they take the field. The Wolfpack will host the Bantams at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Greyhounds will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
