Baseball Game Preview: Muir Mustangs vs. Heritage Christian Warriors

The Muir Mustangs will square off against the Heritage Christian Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Muir has three wins , while Heritage Christian has five dating back to last season).

On Saturday, Muir beat Western Christian 7-3.

Conrad Hunziker was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Luca Cano, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, while Heritage Christian put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica. Heritage Christian put the hurt on Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica with a sharp 15-0 victory. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Noah Arreola looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024.

Muir pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs over those games. As for Heritage Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Muir has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Heritage Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
