Basketball Recap: Emma Hibler Key Part of a Team Effort in Colts Win

Cloverleaf's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Woodridge Bulldogs by a score of 38-30. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cloverleaf got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Hibler out in front who posted eight points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Bayer, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Cloverleaf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 21 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Cloverleaf has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Woodridge, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

Cloverleaf will head out to challenge Streetsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Streetsboro will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Cloverleaf surely won't give up without a fight. As for Woodridge, they will host Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
