Baseball Recap: Trinity Gets the Win

Trinity's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Horace Mann Lions by a score of 5-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Alex Yong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Trinity is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Tyler Delarosa was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Matthew Ladden was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Trinity's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Horace Mann, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Trinity is set to square off against their familiar foe Riverdale Country at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Horace Mann will take on rival Fieldston at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
