Football Recap: Manatee Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Manatee couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Lake Eagles on Thursday.

Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for East Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Manatee and East Lake are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Hurricanes will venture away from home to face off against North Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Knights will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Manatee surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 6.7, the Raiders 6.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
