Softball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

If Centennial was feeling good fresh off their 18-0 takedown of Bakersfield on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Hawks fell just short of the Madera Coyotes by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Golden Hawks haven't had much luck with the Coyotes recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Rylee Morrow and Lundyn Harrison did some serious damage despite the final result: Morrow went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Harrison scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Morrow is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Centennial suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 8-7. As for Madera, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Centennial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Bakersfield on the 11th. As for Madera, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against McLane on the 11th.
