Softball Recap: Carolina Forest Triumphs

Carolina Forest won the last time they faced Myrtle Beach and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Seahawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Lydia Gardner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Natalie Nesheiwat was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Sadie Richardson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Carolina Forest's record now sits at 11-8-1. As for Myrtle Beach, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Carolina Forest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Seahawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
