Softball Recap: North Montgomery Drops Highest Score of Season Against Frankfort

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Montgomery). They never let the Frankfort Hot Dogs get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Wednesday. With that victory, the Chargin' Chargers brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

North Montgomery got a massive performance out of Jayla Birge, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Birge a new career-high. Ella McManomy was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

North Montgomery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

North Montgomery now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Frankfort, their defeat was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, North Montgomery will welcome Greencastle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Frankfort, they will face off against Covenant Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hot Dogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
