Baseball Recap: Manzano Gets the Win

Manzano barely beat Albuquerque the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Monarchs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 13-0 shutout on Saturday. The Monarchs have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Not much got past Landon Stewart, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Albuquerque off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grant Lord, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those home runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Lucero, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Manzano lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
