Basketball Recap: Bentonville's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

Bentonville and Northside squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Bentonville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Northside Grizzlies by a score of 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since December 12, 2024.

Hazley Grotjohn was her usual excellent self, shooting 46% from the field to rack up 16 points and four steals for Northside. Erianna Gooden was another key player, putting up 12 points.

The defeat snapped Bentonville's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 19-11 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points over those games. As for Northside, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.
