Softball Recap: Sycamore Wins High-Profile Contest Against Oswego

Sycamore faced Oswego in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Panthers 2-1. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sycamore's record is now 25-5-1. As for Oswego, their defeat ended a 19-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 31-2.

Looking ahead, Sycamore will take on Jacobs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. Oswego does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
