Soccer Game Preview: Everglades vs. South Broward

The Everglades Gators will venture away from home to take on the South Broward Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Everglades has given up an average of 5.6 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Everglades is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against West Broward on Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, Everglades can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 421st, while West Broward are ranked 171st).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, South Broward made sure to put some goals up on the board against Nova on Thursday. They never let the Titans get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. Considering South Broward's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

South Broward's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-6. As for Everglades, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Everglades suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to South Broward in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
