Softball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short on the Road Against Pope Francis Prep

Commerce had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 19-5 to the Pope Francis Prep Cardinals. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Commerce saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Pope Francis Prep back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Commerce will host Springfield Renaissance at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pope Francis Prep, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Pathfinder RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
