Soccer Recap: West Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

West Mecklenburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Hopewell Titans, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, West Mecklenburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Hopewell are ranked 93rd).

West Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hopewell, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Mecklenburg is set to take on their familiar foe Mallard Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hopewell will challenge rival North Mecklenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
