Softball Recap: HCYA Find Success

HCYA picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Ball Tornadoes. The win made it back-to-back victories for HCYA.

Taegan Lermann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kiran Kyham was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Yanaia Scott was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

HCYA's record now sits at 9-2-1. As for Ball, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. HCYA will challenge Concordia Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. HCYA is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Ball, they will head out to take on Almeta Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ball is facing Almeta Crawford at the right time seeing as Almeta Crawford is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
