Baseball Recap: Canton Takes a Loss

If Canton was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Sullivan County on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 9-3 to the Millville Quakers on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 8-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Canton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Beers, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Millville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton will head out to take on Sayre at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Redskins at the right time seeing as the Redskins are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Millville, they will take on Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
