III Section II recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in III Section II this week, Sabino beat Tempe 56-49. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Sabino led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on the Buffaloes. Emilio Araiza threw for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Jay Campos' team's Araiza and Matt Bushman have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-11 quarterback Araiza has thrown for 1,883 yards this season, while Bushman has 57 catches for 1,500 yards. Sean Fitzsimmons from Empire leads the league in rushing with 1,683 yards.
In 165 carries Jorge Romero has put up 988 yards this year.
Accruing a total of 21 touchdowns this year, Jeremiah Wilcoxen has thrown for 1,854 yards with 8 interceptions.
The Sabercats made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,057 from 2,250. The advance stemmed from a 56-49 victory over Tempe last week.
