Volleyball Recap: Union County Finds Home Court Redemption Against Woodruff

There's no place like home for Union County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Woodruff Wolverines by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Union County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-23.

When it comes to explaining why Woodruff lost, don't look at Ruthie Sheffield. Despite the final result, she had 34 digs and six assists. Sheffield is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 19 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Union County now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Woodruff, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.
