Football Game Preview: Eastern Ramblers vs. Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights

Eastern is 0-3 against Friendship Collegiate Academy since September of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Eastern 13.5, Friendship Collegiate Academy 9.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

Eastern heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup last Saturday. They took a 13-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coolidge. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Ramblers couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Eastern had strong showings from Jeremiah Hubbard, who rushed for 29 yards and one touchdown, and William Simmons, who rushed for 66 yards.

Meanwhile, Friendship Collegiate Academy came tearing into two weeks ago's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured an 18-14 W against the Timberwolves. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in District of Columbia, while the Timberwolves are ranked 77th in Virginia).

Friendship Collegiate Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Eastern, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 8-3.

Eastern couldn't quite get it done against Friendship Collegiate Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 as they fell 18-10. Can the Ramblers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
