Hudson and Chatham are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bluehawks will square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hudson will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Watervliet on Monday. The Bluehawks were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Cannoneers. The Bluehawks have beaten the Cannoneers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cannoneers has come to flipping the script.

Kam Duntz made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hudson got a massive performance out of Ryan Conte, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Amarion Perry, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Hudson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Chatham came out on top against Taconic Hills on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Panthers blew past the Titans 10-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five games in a row.
Thomas Pierro was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Brayden Steltz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Chatham's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Hudson, their record now sits at 7-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hudson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chatham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hudson might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Chatham in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Bluehawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
