Wheatley waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men Knights as they made off with a 79-56 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Knights are ranked 691st).

Wheatley's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wheatley will square off against rival Kashmere at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men is set to take on their familiar foe Worthing at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
