Soccer Recap: Greene County Takes a Loss

Greene County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Poplarville Hornets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in December of 2024.

Greene County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Poplarville, they pushed their record up to 10-8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Greene County has already played their next game (against Wayne County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Poplarville will welcome Bay at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bay will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Poplarville surely won't give up without a fight.
