Football Recap: Homestead Comes Up Short on the Road Against Key West + How To Watch

Homestead kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They and the Key West Conchs were almost perfectly matched up, but the Broncos suffered a 35-34 loss. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Broncos came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Conchs are ranked 290th).

When it comes to explaining why Homestead lost, don't look at Jacob Villa. Despite the final result, he rushed for 25 yards and three TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homestead will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Key West, they will host Goleman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
