Basketball Recap: Pawnee/Calvary/Lutheran Takes a Loss

Pawnee/Calvary/Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 31-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monticello Sages. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Pawnee/Calvary/Lutheran of the 51-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Leading Monticello to victory were Ali Weidner and Megan Allen. Weidner went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points and five rebounds, while Allen dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Allen has become a key player for Monticello: the team is 13-5 when she posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-3 otherwise.

Pawnee/Calvary/Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Monticello, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Pawnee/Calvary/Lutheran will head out to take on Mt. Olive at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Monticello, they will take on Athens at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
