Football Recap: Chesaning Indians vs. Corunna Cavaliers
Chesaning extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They came up short against the Corunna Cavaliers, falling 28-7. The Indians lost against the Cavaliers in their previous head to head back in October of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-8 score last time.
Juanito Escamilla threw for 100 yards and one TD. Law Danek was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Landon Qualls rushed for 48 yards.
As for Corunna, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 1, 2024 (when they won 35-8).
Ota Wilkerson was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown.
