Cushing added to the longest winning streak in 3A District 2 this week by beating Chandler, 48-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Cushing made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,549 from 2,290. The advance stemmed from a 48-14 victory over the Lions last week.
Brady Van Zant was the best receiver in the league this week as Bethany lost to Beggs. Van Zant tallied 3 receptions for 45 yards. Cody Seeds helped Bethany's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 38 yards.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Perkins-Tryon takes on the Tigers. The Demons' offense has recorded 256 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Cushing has permitted only 90 on the year.
An important game coming up in 3A District 2 this week will be when Perkins-Tryon takes on the Tigers. Lloyd Wertman's team is in third place, while Cushing is in second place.
The Demons led the league in scoring this week by notching 48 points on Bristow. Tyler Taff ran for 138 yards in the win.
