Basketball Recap: Hill Freedman World Academy Takes a Loss

On Saturday, Hill Freedman World Academy were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 70-69 to Carver High School of Engineering & Science. While losing is never fun, Hill Freedman World Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Carver High School of Engineering & Science is ranked 137th).

Hill Freedman World Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Shawn McLeod, who went 5-for-9 en route to 19 points and four steals. Those 19 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dahkenah Wilkins, who posted 15 points.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matt McField, who put up 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Williams, who earned 13 points.

Hill Freedman World Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Hill Freedman World Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-68 victory against John Bartram on the 7th. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 84-61 win against High School of the Future on the 7th.
