Softball Recap: Rockvale vs. Blackman Blaze
Rockvale had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it five. They lost 23-0 to the Blackman Blaze. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
As for Blackman, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Blackman's part, Lilliana Acosta looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Sophia Sullivan and Alyssa Barber did most of the damage at the plate: Sullivan went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI, while Barber got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those five RBI gave Sullivan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylie Breakey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
